By a decision of Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, was sent to the United Arab Emirates from January 12 to 15, 2026, to participate in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
ADSW is an annual global initiative aimed at promoting sustainable development, as well as economic, social, and environmental progress.
Founded in 2008, ADSW serves as an international platform bringing together representatives of governments, the private sector, and civil society from around the world to engage in dialogue and cooperation on bold climate action, innovative solutions, and initiatives aimed at sustainable development. The conference is held under the high patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The event brings together heads of state, policymakers, chief executive officers, and industry leaders from across the globe to jointly address climate change, promote adaptation and mitigation measures, and advance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In the context of Yerevan hosting the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in 2026, the participation of the Republic of Armenia in ADSW aims to deepen international cooperation, advance the climate agenda, and facilitate the exchange of best practices in the field of sustainable development.
